Sasha is a Junior from Novi, MI double majoring in Biomolecular Science and History. She does research at the VA Hospital on the immune consequences of prenatal smoke exposure and works as an assistant for the Department of Neurology at the U. Additionally, she is a volunteer at the VA Hospital where she consents patients for clinical trials. Apart from that, she is the resident pre-health peer advisor at the University Career Center, giving presentations on MMIs and providing general career advising. Finally, Sasha is a passionate volunteer for SAPAC in the SEAS (Survivor Empowerment and Ally Support) program. In her free time, Sasha is an avid dinosaur enthusiast, loves to travel, and enjoys watching the Bachelor(ette).
Abby Jozwiak is a junior from Midland, MI majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and minoring in Community Action and Social Change. Outside of MEΔ, she does immunology research at the VA Ann Arbor. She is on the eboard for a computer science club called igniteCS, which is a club that teaches computer science to kids in the community and is also in the club WORTH (women’s organization on right to health). Her favorite thing she has done as a part of MEΔ is volunteering at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum at their Teddy Bear Clinic.
Samantha Damocles is a junior from Midland, MI majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and minoring in Medical Anthropology. She is a research assistant at the Michele Laboratory, studying the molecular mechanisms of muscular dystrophy. Outside of MEΔ, she is a volunteer tutor at Peace Neighborhood Center and volunteers at kidney disease screenings with KDSAP. She is also a part of Hula Michigan (yes, hula dancing, not hula hooping), FASA (Filipino American Student Association) and is an avid baker and photographer.
Dawson Davis is a sophomore with an intended major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Outside of ME∆, he is a laboratory assistant for the Biological Sciences department, a member of the Albanian American Student Organization, and will soon begin his first round of shadowing at University Hospital. When he is not on campus, Dawson spends his summers running a restaurant in South Haven, Michigan where he has resided since attending the Millbrook School in Duchess County, New York.
Pooja Patel is a junior from New York City, double majoring in Biomolecular Sciences and Gender&Health. She currently volunteers at the Community Dental Clinic in Kerrytown and as part of the radiology department at the VA Medical Center. Outside of ME∆, she also a Co-founder of the Project Sunshine chapter at UMich, volunteers with SAPAC SEAS and is part of the Peer Mentorship Program. She loves to travel, cook and watch basketball in her free time!
