Esha Elahi is from Okemos, MI and is a senior studying Community & Global Public Health. Aside from serving as MED’s President, she volunteers at Michigan Medicine and is a research assistant working on clinical research in the field of pathology. Beyond her extracurricular involvement, Esha enjoys doing CrossFit, and is a brunch enthusiast.
Alex Connelley is a senior from Warren, MI majoring in Public Health Science. Outside of MED, he is a research assistant in the School of Public Health interviewing Michigan Medicine patients regarding food insecurity screening, and works as a server in a local restaurant. In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time with friends, listening to different types of music, and trying new restaurants.
Jane Workman is a senior from Chatham, NJ majoring in Biology and minoring in Sociology of Health and Medicine. Outside of MED, she’s Chief of Staff for the Student Panel and loves being able to help make pre-health classes a little easier for students. In her free time, loves reading, drinking coffee, and hosting dinner parties with her friends.
Mario Migaldi is a Junior from Okemos, MI majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Italian. Outside of MED, he is a research assistant in the Eban-Rothschild Lab and is a part of the Michigan Evans Scholars. In his free time, he enjoys finding new restaurants, doing Crossfit, cooking, and playing golf!
Sofia Ketels is a senior from Grosse Pointe, MI majoring in Community & Global Public Health and minoring in Biology. Outside of MED, she serves as President of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program on campus. She also works on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Outside of school, Sofia enjoys spending time outside and embroidering.
Manav Thakral is a senior from Northville, MI majoring in Biology, Health and Society. Outside of MED, he serves as Vice President of a Cooking Club on campus. He is also a research assistant in the Clowney Lab. In his free time, he enjoys eating food, going to the gym, cooking, and relaxing.
Riya Chatterjee is a junior from Cupertino, CA, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Business. Outside of MED, she is a research assistant at the Motor and Visual Development lab, Vice President of United 2 Heal on campus, and loves to swim with the Club Swim team. She also currently works as an EMT. In her free time, Riya loves boxing, going hiking, and playing with her German Shepherd puppy.
